Equipment

At Midwestern Drilling, we have the equipment you need to get the job done right. We own four Geoprobe Rigs, multiple Hollow Stem Augers and Dual Tube Sampling systems. We add new equipment regularly, to keep up with demand and technology changes.

Geoprobe® 7822DT Combo Rig

The 7822DT Combo Rig is the industry’s benchmark for direct push equipment, this high-capacity machine has a narrow platform, and we are able to move from site to site quickly as the machines are mounted on a truck.

It features an overhead mast and winch, with a GH63 Percussion Hammer. With a quick change over, this machine also allows us to install 3/4 to 4 inch monitoring wells as well as split spoon sampling utilizing Geoprobe’s automatic drop hammer.

Clients who have limited access or ceiling height restrictions may find this track rig their best bet.  It has a small footprint of 48 inches wide and only requires 8 feet of ceiling clearance.  This small, but mighty machine features big direct push drill rig power.

The rig has a GH63 percussion hammer while still being sized to slip into small spaces. Easily mobilize the lightweight rig to your direct push jobs with confidence to complete sampling.

Hollow Stem Augers

We use hollow stem augers to set environmental groundwater monitoring wells. Hollow stem augers range in diameter, as hole widths vary based on the project type and objective. At Midwestern Drilling, we have 3.25″, 4.25″ and 6.25″ augers, allowing us to drill for environmental well monitoring and leave enough space for filter pack.

Hollow stem auger drilling allows soil samples to be collected without contamination. Hollow stem augers are useful in wet or sandy soils, as the hollow stem can act as a temporary casing, preventing the sides of the bore hold from caving in. Hollow stem augers drill quickly through many soil types, including clay, which can keep an environmental drilling project more cost-effective.
